Flowers Associates are pleased to be working with our Leicester based client who are a market leader within their industry. This is a great opportunity for a Management Accountant who has had exposure to working with external clients and projects.
The successful Management Accountant responsibilities:
To produce project based monthly management accounts, including posting journals for accruals and prepayments
Integral role in monthly forecasting and annual budget preparation processes.
Manage and report the Lifecycle budget of various client contracts.
Business Partner the Regional Director and Facilities Manager of various client contracts.
Assist in the mentoring and development of junior members of the Management Accounts Team.
Management Accountant duties:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency of the process where applicable.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of each of the projects/client contracts across a varied number of business sectors.
Support the provision of business plans, results and forecasts for the contracts.
Business Partner the Operations Team as required, delivering a comprehensive management accounting service to the business areas (financial and non-financial).Occasional travel to sites will be required
Prepare and provide commentary on the periodic financial performance of individual projects and sectors against budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and distribute appropriate financial reports to budget holders to support financial control and aid performance management and target achievement.
Prepare and provide a reconciliation including a detailed commentary of a number of Balance Sheet Control Accounts such as Accruals, Prepayments and Deferred Income.
Help deliver increased financial controls and corporate governance standards, supporting and monitoring compliance using financial systems and technical expertise.
Provision of management accounts to clients and commentary on performance to internal customers.
Responsible for calculating, presenting and applying all contractual increases to the client contract including annual increases and variations.
Deputise for the Senior Management Accountant when required.
The successful Management Accountant will need to demonstrate:
Qualified or QBE Accountant, Part Qualified will also be considered with study support offered.
Advanced Excel skills- applied use of Excel to advanced level (pivots, reporting, queries etc.) preferred.
Experience of period end processes and practice, along with forecasting and budgeting.
Preferably experience in reviewing contracts and extracting the relevant financial elements.
Ability to disseminate information across all levels of the business
