Flowers has been engaged to identify and appoint a key financial position for a long established family owned group of businesses based in Leicester. Following retirements, the MD is seeking to develop his finance dept from a transactional function to a value adding business partnering service to the group via developing processes, reporting tools, data analysis and business insight through to better control of inhouse compliance and statutory processes.
We are looking for a Financial Controller who can develop and maintain company financial processes, be operationally driven in partnering with the key decision making as the contract portfolio continues to grow. In time, possibly organically, there is scope for the role to become Finance Director.
You’ll be overseeing two assistants (Accounts Payable, Receivable, Credit Control) whilst assuming full responsibility for the day to day operational finance needs, ensuring full compliance, control and adherence to best practice and processes.
In addition, you will ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements such as VAT, AER, RTI, Taxation and Audit requirements. The company is also seeking to bring payroll back in house (90 staff)
Finally, you will responsible for working closely with the MD in providing key financial and management information, management accounts, visibility and insight. This will include budgeting and forecasting, Cashflow control and contract performance.
This is a role well suited to a finance professional who harbours the ambition to work within a developing SME business. Your experience to date should reflect the above and demonstrate strong technical capabilities within transaction management.
At the same time, you should be experienced within both Management and Financial Accounting processes supported by advanced spreadsheet capabilities. You will ideally be qualified ACCA / ACMA / ACA however applications from non-qualified professionals with the relevant experience would be warmly received.
